Privacy & Data

Last updated: June 27, 2026

This page explains how Conscious handles privacy and data.

Summary

Conscious uses limited data to run the app, understand how features are used, and improve the experience. We try to keep data collection simple and minimal.

Information we collect

Conscious may collect anonymous app usage and diagnostic information, such as app opens, setup progress, permission status, feature usage, ritual progress, check-in actions, settings activity, and basic device/app information.

This information is connected to an anonymous install ID. It is not connected to your name or email address.

Permissions

Conscious may ask for notification permission and Android Usage Access permission. Notifications are used for reminders and check-ins. Usage Access helps Conscious know when a scrolling session may be happening.

Conscious does not collect the content you view in other apps, private messages, contacts, browsing history, or precise location.

Service providers

Conscious uses PostHog for anonymous product analytics. Service providers may process information for us only to help operate, analyze, and improve the app.

Local data

Ritual progress, Conscious Days, settings, and app state are stored locally on your device. Resetting the app, clearing app data, or uninstalling may remove local progress.

Your choices

You can manage app permissions in your device settings. You can also reset the app from Conscious settings.
